About The Policy Nexus

The Mission

Welcome to The Policy Nexus: Analytics & Equity.

This platform is dedicated to unmasking the inequities hidden within administrative systems. I founded this site to bridge the gap between complex public administration theory and the daily lives of global citizens. Here, we go beyond the headlines to analyze how policy timelines and bureaucratic structures impact underserved communities—both offline and online.

The Research

As a Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) student at California Baptist Universitymy academic work focuses on the intersection of public health, digital policy, and social justice. My primary research interest lies in "Administrative Chrononormativity"—a concept rooted in Jack Halberstam's work. I examine how rigid institutional timelines often exclude non-normative life cycles, particularly affecting:

  • Queer Health Outcomes: How medical and insurance timelines fail those outside traditional "linear" paths.

  • Marginalized Populations: How "straight time" in bureaucracy creates barriers for those in flux.

  • Digital Governance: The disconnect between rapid technological advancement and the slower pace of equitable policy.

Leadership & Advocacy

Theory must always be informed by practice. My analysis is grounded in active leadership roles within the governance systems I study:

  • 2025 Equity Fellow (Children Now): Translating complex issues into actionable policy to ensure California’s platforms serve its most underserved families.

  • Commissioner, Community Action Partnership (CAP): Representing the low-income sector and providing a direct voice for community needs in local governance.

  • Former President, Graduate and Adult Student Government (GASG): Previously served the University of La Verne’s graduate community, advocating for shared governance and institutional equity.

Community Service

My commitment to equity extends beyond the classroom and the boardroom. As a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Voices for Children and through past casework with the Red CrossI have seen firsthand how policy failures impact vulnerable individuals. These experiences drive my commitment to developing sustainable, human-centered policies.

Connect & Collaborate

I invite fellow scholars, policymakers, and community members to engage with the findings presented here.
